The Gouri Cultural and Educational Association was established in 23.09.1994. This non-political organization published their first magazine Darpan, in the same year having Prof. Bimal Kumar Mukhopadhyay as chief editor, Prof. Dilip Bhattacharya as the president and Prof. Dipankar Mallik as the editor. Later the same was changed as a same titled magazine then existed outside. The new Research Journal 'Tabu Ekalavya' was published in 23rd Sept. 1994. TABU EKALAVYA, An International Peer-Reviewed Research Journal on Arts and Humanities.

The journal has featured contributions from distinguished authors, researchers, academicians, and scholars representing not only various institutions across West Bengal but also reputed academic and research institutions from different parts of India. Furthermore, several established authors and scholars from outside India have contributed to the journal, enriching its intellectual and academic scope.

Through its commitment to original research, critical inquiry, and interdisciplinary perspectives, 'TABU EKALAVYA' seeks to provide a meaningful platform for scholarly dialogue and the exchange of ideas in the fields of literature, culture, and the humanities. The journal aspires to foster intellectual engagement across geographical boundaries and to encourage new avenues of research and critical thought in Arts and Humanities.

Renowned writer Selina Hossain has been associated with TABU EKALAVYA Research Journal for a long time. The Chief Advisory Board of TABU EKALAVYA Research Journal comprises the following distinguished scholars-- Swami Shastrajnananda, Prof. Pabitra Sarkar, Dr. Ramkumar Mukhopadhyay, Prof. Biswajit Ghosh, Prof. Soma Bandyopadhyay, Prof. Dipak Roy, Sri Sadhan Chattopadhyay, Sri Jharashwar Chattopadhyay, Sri Ashis Giri, Dr. Ratan Kumar Nandi.

The President of this international research journal is Dr. Tapan Mondal, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Professor in the Department of Bengali at Diamond Harbour Women's University. The Editor-in-Chief of this international journal for Arts and Humanities research is Dr. Dipankar Mallick, Head of the Department of Bengali at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math (an autonomous college). The Joint Associate Editors are two distinguished researchers and essayists, Dr. Debarati Mallick and Dr. Tapas Pal. The Vice-Presidents are Dr. Bidisha Sinha, Associate Professor at Scottish Church College, and Dr. Soma Bhadra Roy, Head of the Department of Bengali at West Bengal State University. The Convener of this international, peer-reviewed research journal is Dr. Shyamashree Biswas Sengupta, Assistant Professor in the Department of Bengali at the University of Kalyani. Two accomplished researchers, Manisha Roy and Suparna Patra, serve as Joint Assistant Editors. This research journal is published four times a year.
